:

The PistolGear Heavy Guide Rod for XDM and MOD.2 Tactical includes a machined Tungsten core and weighs 3.50 ounces / 99.22 grams. This guide rod is FIVE times heavier than the factory guide rod included with XDM 4.5 and 5.25 models.

By adding a little extra weight at the front of the pistol, you are able to lessen muzzle flip, allowing for faster follow up shots and less felt recoil.

This guide rod will fit the XDM 4.5 & 5.25 models in 9MM, 40SW and 45ACP, as well as the XD MOD.2 Tactical (5"). This guide rod will NOT fit XD, XD Slim nor XDM 3.8 models.

This guide rod uses your factory recoil spring or one these spring options.

If you want your guide rod in a color other than black, please select a color from the "custom color" list and we will Cerakote the rod for you.  Custom colors can take up to 15 business days to complete.

Good xdm mod

- 25th February 2015

I purchased this guide rod for my xdm 40. I am new to shooting and I wanted something to help tame recoil. I feel this guide rod is helpful with recoil and I have had an easier time staying on target between shots when using this guide rod. I and giving the product a 4 not because while it does work, it seems a little costly to me. That said, I was not able to find a similar product anywhere, at the same weight level, for less. I am a graduate student and funds are tight. Taking price away, it is a 5.

Really like this guide rod!

- 17th February 2015

I received this guide rod (quickly) from PistolGear at the end of January. I have shot with it twice now and I really like how the gun shoots with the rod installed. I definitely feel less snap while shooting and follow up shots are a little quicker. In the hand, the rod feels heavy. When in the gun, the overall weight of the pistol does not seem that much different (which I thought was odd). A worthy update in my opinion.
