The Canyon Creek Tungsten Guide Rod for the XDm is nearly three times the weight of the XDm's stock guide rod. By adding this nonreciprocating mass to the muzzle end of the gun, you ease both muzzle flip and felt recoil. An Independent test showed that the use of a Tungsten Guide Rod reduced split times on a double tap by 37% (meaning quicker follow up shots) over a stock weight guide rod. Guide Rod Weighs 4 ounces and dimensionally similar to your stock guide rod (no bushing required). Note: This is not a captive rod system, therefore a spring is not included with this item. Wow What a Product!!

This guide rod is the answer to felt recoil and muzzle flip with the .40 XDM
hands down. Fit and function excellant.

I used the "skinny" rod with bushing, found that it would not fit with the bushing and original spring, so I just eliminated the bushing and it works fine in my new XD-M. I have fired it in two matches with no malfunctions.
