It took me a few months to decide to do it, because you will need to blend the gun frame to the magwell to get rid of any edges that might catch. After pistolgear customer service giving me some tips, I did it this morning in 15 minutes with a dremel. I also fit it to the #3 backstrap easily after some sanding of the backstrap. The magwell works great! I can do quick smooth reloads while keeping my eyes on target. Cosmetically the magwell looks great too! The shape makes it look much cooler than magwells for other guns. Thanks Pistolgear! Keep making em! I will put them on all three of my XDm's!  05 May 2010Brad - 05th May 2010 Great magwell. I have both XD Tac. 5" and XDM 9mm's with the pistol gear magwell on both. Both are excellent parts. I favor the XDM's magwell a little because it's easier to install (no grinding). FYI- you can install the XDM magwell with the #3 grip insert with a little filing(for big hands), but I wouldn't recommend taking this task on yourself if you're not a gunsmith. I'm an IDPA and USPSA shooter and use PistolGear for all my XD/XDM parts.  Very Nice !!shootincrazy - 06th April 2010 Had to wait on product to come in, but it was worth the wait. great fit and do it yourself project. My factory mags had had to be modified a little with the dremel tool, but the extended ones work just fine. Was a little high price wise, but overall a great addition to the XDM.
