PistolGear Conversion Barrel for XD (9MM Service)

This conversion barrel is specific to the XD Service model in 40SW, 357SIG or 45GAP.

What is a conversion barrel? A conversion barrel allows you to convert your large caliber XD (.40SW or .357SIG) down to a smaller caliber (9x19) for the benefit of practice and plinking.

To increase reliability and performance, we always suggest that you use 9x19 magazines with our 9x19 barrel as well as reduced weight spring (18# or less).

Note: All PistolGear barrels are made in the USA by Storm Lake Barrels to our specifications.

The following movie shows the extreme conversion going from the large 45GAP to the smaller 9MM cartridge. Modification to the XD extractor claw is not a required mod when going from 40SW to 9MM.

.45 Gap Converted into a 9mm

Great barrel that fit perfect. When doing this conversion just make sure to file your extractor properly and if needed respring it for proper tension. I'm running a 17lb spring and one piece guide rod with great results. Test with snap cap dummy rounds so that you can check for proper feeding, extraction and ejection. Once finished go have fun. So far I have 500+ rounds fired with zero FTF's or FTE's.

Great barrel, but know what you are getting.

For those who don't already know, this barrel will most likely require some modification to the pistol to make it work. I knew this before hand and when I received it, I had to do a little work. The barrel comes in perfect condition, had to make a little room for the extractor, file down a little to get it to lock, and most importantly, file my extractor to get it to extract a 9mm round properly. Youtube has some videos on how to do the extractor, but if you don't feel comfortable, take it to a trusted gunsmith. Pistolgear is great, the barrel is great and I'm 100% satisfied. I just wanted to post for those who think this barrel will just drop in and work perfectly. Don't complain to Pistolgear when you think it will drop in and work. Thanks Pistolgear and you have a customer for life!!!
